Starting a mop shop in your community could be the answer.

Similar to a food pantry, a mop shop provides cleaning supplies to those less fortunate.

You'll just need four things to get started!

1. space, 2. financial resources, 3. volunteers and 4. leadership

Start small and grow your program!

The Mop Shop started in a room measuring 8 x 13. We had 3 volunteers. Fast forward nearly 11 years and we now have 3 rooms, 13 volunteers and a community that has embraced us!

Mission

Procurement and distribution of cleaning supplies to those within Jo Daviess County who self-identify as being in need.

From the beginning I was enamored with the idea of The Mop Shop. Cleanliness. Dignity. Community service. I was instantly hooked and I wanted to help. My golf league “adopted” The Mop Shop as one of our annual golf invitational charity recipients and now I am a volunteer at the shop. It’s an extremely worthwhile outreach and clients are very, very appreciative of the work we all do. I am in awe of what has been accomplished and am proud to play my small part.”
